Kelly’s Port has a long and rich history at the Lake of the Ozarks. The original facility, known as the Rocky Comfort Hotel, was built in 1929 prior to the completion of the Great Osage River. The resort was one of the first establishments on the Lake and later evolved into Gaitlin’s Boat Yard, the first marina to sell and service boats. After some time in the saloon business, Kelly's Westport Inn in Kansas City, Randy and Jane Kelly came to the Lake of the Ozarks in May 1977 to give the marina business a try. With little to no experience in the marine industry, he was embarking in uncharted waters. He didn’t even know you needed to winterize a boat before the purchase. However, he had a passion to learn and an obligation to take care of the customer which was all he needed to create one of the best marinas at the Lake of the Ozarks.  Jane went on to real estate in 1979 and has been recognized as the largest Re/Max agent in the three-state region multiple times.
