Kelly’s Port has a long and rich history at the Lake of the
Ozarks. The original facility, known as the Rocky Comfort Hotel, was built in
1929 prior to the completion of the Great Osage River. The resort was one of
the first establishments on the Lake and later evolved into Gaitlin’s Boat
Yard, the first marina to sell and service boats.
After some time in the saloon business, Kelly's Westport Inn in Kansas City, Randy
and Jane Kelly came to the Lake of the Ozarks in May 1977 to give the marina
business a try. With little to no experience in the marine industry, he was
embarking in uncharted waters. He didn’t even know you needed to winterize a
boat before the purchase. However, he had a passion to learn and an obligation
to take care of the customer which was all he needed to create one of the best
marinas at the Lake of the Ozarks. Jane
went on to real estate in 1979 and has been recognized as the largest Re/Max
agent in the three-state region multiple times.
The marina has continued to grow in its 43 years at the lake
and nothing is slowing that growth down. In 1993, Kelly’s Port broke ground on
the Osage Beach Marina. The marina facility offers all the amenities of a
full-service marina in addition to sales, wet and dry storage, swimming pool
and bath houses, and what has been recognized as the best service facility in the Lake area. Did we mention, we are the only dealer in the nation to Guarantee Same Day Service!
In 2007, we opened the Lake’s first 8,400 sq. ft retail boat showroom with the ability to show boats up to 50 feet indoors. And since we are
open year-round, this makes buying a boat in the winter a breeze. We’re also
here and happy to fuel your boat for those fluke 60+ degree weather days
Missouri tends to have in the winter.
