The Lake will be Fast & Furious this Weekend for the 32nd Annual Shootout
It’s a big week at the Lake of the Ozarks! Guests from all over the country will be here to enjoy the Lake of the Ozarks Shootout. On your way to the races stop by the best gas dock at the lake and have our dock angels top you off.
32ND ANNUAL SHOOTOUT
The Lake of the Ozarks Shootout is the largest unsanctioned boat race in the US, named one of the nation’s eight “must-see” boating events according to Powerboat Magazine, the Shootout will take place for the ninth year at Captain Ron’s Bar & Grill in Sunrise Beach (Lake Road 5-50, mile marker 34.5). The event raises funds for eight Lake-area rescue teams and numerous other charitable organizations; last year, $357,000.00 to 32 different Charities and 8 Fire Departments. The Lake of the Ozarks Shootout is alive and well and looking forward to the 32nd year in August of 2020.
EVENT SCHEDULE
SHOOTOUT ON THE STRIP - WED, AUG 26TH, 2020
The “Shootout on the Strip” is a fun, family event where over 5,000 people come to see your boat up close and personal! Feel free to bring along photos or pictures of your favorite boat to get an autograph for the kids!
- Line up 2:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. on Highway 242
- 3:45 p.m. move to the Bagnell Dam Strip area.
- Set by 5:00 p.m.
- Sales of any merchandise are only allowed on private property & must obtain a city sales license.
- Silent Auction
- Open container law will be strictly enforced.
- 10:00 p.m. all participants will pull out.

To all spectators coming to the shootout by water: please note that our normal no-wake zone runs from the 31-mile marker to the 36-mile marker from 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Saturday and from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, August 29th, and 30th. This year on Saturday, August 29th, the no-wake zone will be extended to the 21-mile marker from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Please observe the established no-wake zone, but on Saturday, also the extended no-wake zone. The Lake of the Ozark Shootout’s goal has always been to continue to have one of the safest events on the water and to protect not only the participants and spectators but also the local residents. Please help us in accomplishing this goal.

Our gas dock at the 19.5 MM will be open Saturday 8am-7pm and Sunday 8am-5pm. Stop by, say hi, and fill up with the cheapest gas on the Lake of the Ozarks. Gas prices are currently: 87 Octane $2.19, 93 Octane $2.85, Diesel $2.00. Enjoy the big weekend and be safe!
