Giving Back to the Community with Kelly's Port Anniversary Gas Special ❤️ 🐎

With 43 years under our belt at Kelly’s Port, we love to give back to our clients and our community. Our annual gas special is just a couple weeks away and we want everyone to know where they can receive the cheapest gas on the lake while helping a great cause. In this week’s blog, we will highlight our Anniversary Gas Special and the cause behind it.

Kelly’s Port Anniversary Gas Special

Celebrating the anniversary of when some 26 year old greaser bartender (Randy) sold literally everything he owned except for his dog to put money down on a boat dealership. Lived on-site, drove a company truck, and his wife (Jane) worked as the first and self-described “best Gas Dock Angel that ever lived”.  Fun fact: Randy didn’t even know you had to winterize a boat when he bought the dealership.

Wouldn’t it be great to pull into the dock at Kelly’s Port to not only get a great price on gas but how does meeting real live ponies while your there. Yes, you heard that right, we will have ponies on our dock while we fill your boat. The event will take place at our marina located at the 19.5 mile marker Memorial Day weekend. The gas special will take place for 4 days, May 22 - May 25. The ponies will be on the dock Saturday, May 23. When you pay in cash for your gas during this time not only will you receive the best gas prices on the lake but a portion of the proceeds will help sponsor horses from Missouri Forget Me Not Horse Rescue and Sanctuary. We love working with this foundation while also giving our clients a perk with a gas price you can not beat. The more gas we well the more horses we sponsor!

Missouri Forget-Me-Not Horse Rescue and Sanctuary

Since 2011, Missouri Forget-Me-Not Horse Rescue and Sanctuary has taken in over 500 horses and found adoptive homes for more than 299 horses. MFMN started with 21 horses and has grown to over 130 horses in seven years, including over 50 horses in foster care in the surrounding community. We take in horses that are adoptable, as well as horses that are too old, or physically compromised and cannot be ridden. Many of these horses become permanent residents. We do not discriminate based on age, breed, health, or gender. We are a "no-kill" shelter and we follow the Equine Rescue and Sanctuary guidelines of the Global Federation of Animal Sanctuaries.

Mission

Our mission is to provide aid and sanctuary to abused, neglected, abandoned, or surrendered horses that come to us. We work with law enforcement and other agencies in their efforts to rectify situations in which horses are in peril, and provide horses in our Sanctuary with needed medical care and proper nutrition.

We continue educational and fundraising efforts to both help us support our rescue efforts and to promote awareness of issues involving neglect and abuse in our area.



This is a great cause and we hope to see everyone Memorial Day weekend. The gas docks will be open from 8am - 7pm Friday & Saturday and 8-5 Sunday & Monday. Bring the family to take pictures with the ponies and take advantage of the best gas prices on the lake.
